Choosing The Right Grass Seed For Your Lawn

Ask
yourself the following questions:
1. What region do you live in?
(These are not USDA zones, these are zone numbers
provided by Pennington Seed, please use their map below
for correct location for these zones)

2. Is your lawn sunny or
shady? Different types of grass seeds are suited
to different types of lawns. The type that is best for
your lawn depends on the amount of sun you lawn receives
versus the amount of shade. For example, Bermuda thrives
on warm, sunny lawns, and some types of Fescue do well
in shady areas.
3. Are you covering a
high traffic area? If your lawn undergoes a lot
of traffic such as children or pets, a tougher more
durable grass such as fescue is recommended.
4. How much maintenance are
you willing to do for a beautiful lawn? Choosing a
grass variety depends on the amount of time you have to
spend on keeping it maintained. For example,
Bluegrass can require more maintenance than Fescue.
5. Is the area irrigated?
How much are you willing or able to water? Some
grass varieties require more water than others. For
example, Bermuda usually requires less water than
Bluegrass.
