COLORADO LAWN GRASSES
Recommend Grasses - Kentucky
Bluegrasses are the
predominant lawn grasses used in Colorado. However one of the main
problems with Kentucky Bluegrass is its susceptibility to leaf
spot. To combat this it is best to use a blend of three cultivars
which combines their different strengths without the drawbacks of
a single specific weakness. If you are located in an area where
the salinity in the soil would prohibit the use of Kentucky
bluegrass the next best thing would be
perennial rye grasses,
fine fescue or tall fescue grass.
