Recommended grasses -
Kentucky Bluegrasses are
the dominant lawn grasses in Iowa, in many circumstances it is
better to pursue improved types which provide the more beautiful
disease resistant Bluegrass lawns. Turf type
perennial rye may also be
thrown into the Bluegrass for a good mix. Tall
fescues are also a possibility
if wide-bladed, tough play lawns are what you are looking for.
Fine Fescues work well in shady areas.
