Recommended grasses -
Centipede grass has
been growing in popularity in the Gulf-Coast region, this grass
has the uncanny ability to produce a lawn in almost any type of
soil. Bermuda grasses
are also an option in areas of full sun exposure. Many varieties
of Bermuda grass can sustain a lawn in both over-limed and acidic
soils. Northern parts of the state Tall Fescue may also be
grown. Fine Fescues can be used in shady problem areas in
Northern LA. In deep South areas St. Augustine is used
primarily for shady lawns.
