MISSISSIPPI LAWN GRASSES
Recommended Grasses -
Bermuda grass is the
most common choice of grass in Mississippi. Common Bermudas can be
seeded but the improved cultivars produce the finer textured
lawns. Zoysia grass is
also another option to consider as it is slow to establish but
relatively problem free once you have a full lawn. For Shade
tolerance St. Augustine
is recommended, however it cannot handle the colder climates.
Other warm season grasses including Bahiagrass and Dallisgrass
will also grow in Mississippi.
