Recommended Grass For Puerto Rico Lawns
Puerto Rico is an island off of Florida with the Atlantic ocean on one side and the
Caribbean on the other. The tropical environment is very similar to that of South Florida and the same grass grows well there. A soil test is recommended to help determine which grass to use and to help with the
determination of applications of fertilizers and lime.
WARM SEASON GRASSES are the best choices for planting in Puerto Rico. Grass that performs well in climate zones 9 & 10 will thrive in Puerto Rico.

Bahia grass are some of the more
popular grass used. Grasses are similar to those used in Florida Climate.
Bermuda grass is salt tolerant if salinity in your soil is an issue.
