WYOMING LAWN GRASSES
Recommended Grasses -
Kentucky Bluegrass
is the most common lawn grass. This grass grows slower in the
mid-summer and faster towards the end of summer. Summer time
is the best time to plant new turf lawns. The
Fine Fescues are also used,
both alone and as a shade mixture or in the KBG. Fine Fescues
also provide good shade tolerance and have excellent drought resistance. Native
grasses such as Buffalo and Wheat grasses are good for areas
that have low amounts of available water.
